The two bottles above are what I am looking for! Pontil Medicines from
pre-Civil War.
Especially if they have the word "BALSAM" embossed on them.
We don't find a lot of these in the South as they are so old.
The bottle on the Right is a Dr. Wistars Balsam of Wild Cherry, I have a
pontil Bryant's Indian Pulmanary Balsam and a Dr. Jaynes Carminative Balsam.

The purple bottle in the back is colored that way from being in the sun for
many years.
Another Group of Meds found under a druggest's house by Natchez
"Magic Snake Oil CURES all Ailments" This was heard all over the United
States from 1860 to 1890. In 1907 the Federal Government stop allowing the
word CURE to be embossed on a bottle. So all cure bottles are pre 1900 and
